iTouch 2G Bricked?

Now I've read a lot about iPods being impossible to brick... but while using blackra1n to jailbreak an iTouch 2G with 3.0.0 firmware, iTunes said something about "insufficient memory" and "failed to update". Now the screen is displaying the connect to itunes logo BUT it has this wierd checkerboard pattern of purple/yellow/blue squares in a slightly titled angle.
Windows detects it as a "malfunctioning device" and Mac doesn't detect it at all.
None of the buttons will work and nothing I do seems to work.

PLEASE HELP!

Try turning it off by pressing and holding the power and home buttions at the same time untill it should turn off completly

None of the buttons worked. But I was finally able to get it to work, I just let the battery die and then plugged it in an AC outlet and it was back to the lockscreen somehow. But thanks anyway.
