Help iPod Touch 2g 8GB Jailbreak 3.1.2

Hi everybody now I didn't roam around the whole forum to see if people posted up what I will post now but I did find that many said that blackra1n and 3.1.2 firmware has a lot of bugs. To start off as you know already I have an iPod Touch 2G 8GB now let me tell you what happens to it when I jailbreak it. I've tried a million methods on trying to jailbreak it and still no luck so I've come for help. My iPod is on restored original firmware 3.1.2 I plug it in and click on "make it ra1n" on my iPod Geo's head pops up and then that little scroller shows and then as I saw many on YouTube it goes to the apple logo then to the lockscreen mode now for me after Geo's head pops up it goes straight to lockscreen. Yeah sure everything looks normal many of you will say oh it's jailbroken, correct, but the problem is that once I turn it off it goes straight into connect to iTunes mode and I have to press "make it ra1n" again to jailbreak it. Now I've tried downgrading but got wonderful 1600's/20's errors and I've tried quickfreedom nothing works I've tried all blackra1n's RC1, RC2, and RC3. I've just ran out of idea hopefully somebody and hear me out. Thanks a lot guys, bbsipodtouch help never replies so screw him.

you need to read more.. its called a teathered jailbreak for a reason.. meaning the only way to reboot it or turn it off is to make sure you have a computer handy cause to start that ipod up again you'll need to run blackra1n again.. read more.. perhaps you would have found out that answer...

I know it's called a tethered jailbreak but it's not suppose to be on a 2g only for 3g ipods

Still sounds to me like you're stuck with a tethered jailbreak. After the first blackra1n run does the app show up on your springboard? If not then it's not jailbroken. Your other option would be to use pwnage tool to build a custom firmware if it is in fact a 2G iPod Touch as you say.

Yes the blackra1n app shows up it lets me install Cydia & Rock and installs perfect but when it says reboot device on some apps from Cydia that's where it puts me to connect to iTunes mode. As for pwnage tool I don't have a mac so I can't do it, unless there is a way to do it through windows?

go to the apple store buy urself snow leopard and install vmware and ur all set. thats what i use.

hey can someone explain me why when i make it rain theres every thing tht i install like i put ********** winterboard cydia but when i want to put a app from iphone browser (ssh) it says it is still not jailbroken can someone tell me what to do

You have to go to cyida and download this thing call, (well I don't remember the name but type in "add" in search and three other letters will be in front of it and download it then after that it'll work)

in cydia type add and there you'll find a word with three letters in front of add and install that

after installing that it won't prompt you saying you have an unjailbroken ipd

i got an ipod 2g 8gb running 3.1.2 and blackrain wont work for me. i know its not the iphone but i need help and im new to this whole thing. it is a model mc and ive heard that theyre unjailbreakable but on youtube theres people doin it with blackrain and i cant figure this out. ive tried it idk how many times idk how many different ways and still nuthing. i cant get geohots face to come up the screen just stays black and boots up about 15 minutes later. i need serious help. ive been tryin to do this for over a week now and still cant figure it out. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
