* 3.1.2 untethered JB

Hi All,

Was just wondering, as I lost my other post I commented on about this.... was attached to someone else's, and now cant find it...

But, will there ever be, or is planned.... a new JB.. that will allow UNtethered Jailbreaks...??

As with regards to below, I am suffering this almost every other App Tap...

If your ipt2/3GS/ipt3 is rebooting into recovery after running blackra1n, this isn't a bug. It's a feature. You need to run blackra1n every time to boot it. This 'feature', called tethered jailbreak, is enabled by upgrades Apple made to the bootrom and the fact ipt3 uses nand flash.

If I go to run Settings or AppStore or Cydia apps, it will crash out saying "Mobile Structure did not cause this, it prevented you from it.... restart... blah blah" and its getting a little annoying now!

Apparently it wont happen if its untethered, and never happened on redsn0w 3.0 - so, are there plans to make it untethered...??

If not, how easy is it to DOWNgrade my OS back to redsnow, and will I loose my apps if I do??

I've already restored my OS, using iTunes, and re-JB.... so, other than downgrading or waiting, not a lot of options!

For now, you must be tethered. There is, of course, plans to release a non-tethered method, but that will take time (how much, I don't know). As for downgrading, you can do it and re-jailbreak, so long as you have the correct firmware and you select it when you restore.
