for I have the same problem with my iPhone 3G since 3.1.2 and Blackra1n/Blacksn0w:
I can access every dir from root on using iFile!
Why OpenSSH? Is it necessary to get access via DiskAid also?
By the way: same prob in "iPhone Explorer".
Whow! Forget everything! Problem solved by DigiDNA:
The bug affecting DiskAid preventing it to access Root folder under "jailbroken" OS 3.1.2 is due to a missing config patch in a config file within "Blackra1n".
You can fix that by downloading the "afc2add" from Cydia!

i believe you have a 32gb or 64gb ipod touch 3rd gen, correct?
if so, you have to re-jailbreak you ipod everytime you reboot it/turn it off.
this is called a tethered jailbreak.
it is very annoying sometimes but that's the way life is
p.s don't worry, when you re-jailbreak it everything will be back to normal as if nothing happened
p.s.s i was very annoyed with this because i had to restore it about 10 times and it takes half an hour to fully restore my ipod
help me pls
i have an ipod touch:
2G
32gb
and i had jailbreak the ipos with blackra1n ...
but ever if i turn the ipod off
everthing is deleted ..

i just got my itouch 3g 8gb i want to know is it still a tethered jailbreak with blackra1n for it n when u say turn off do u mean like holding sleep button until it says power off or do u mean just locking the lockscreen
1. Connect Ipod (with original firmware)to PC
2. Shut down all Itunes processes
3. Run blackra1n.exe and press "make it ra1n"
4. Ipod will reboot and blackra1n will appear on the Ipod screen
5. Ran blackra1n and install Cyndia
6. Run Cyndia(don't upgrade it when asked!!!)
7. Go to Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add -> and add sinfuliphonerepo.com -> click "add source"
8. Go to find and type Appsync. Install AppSync for OS 3.1.2
9.Go to find and type Install0us. Install it.
10.Go to find and type iFile. Install it.
11.Find on Cyndia and install Automatic SSH, Open SSH, Toggle SSH
12. Install Winscp on your PC. Run it.
13. Host name is IPod's Ip address. user - root, pass - alpine
14. Press Save then login. Type alpine in password field again.
15. Browse Ipod.
16. Put ipas to root/var/mobile/downloads
17. Go to Install0us -> downloads. Install Ipas.
18. Ipas installed to root/var/mobile/applications
Enjoy!
im pretty sure that the sinful repo no longer works.
also, all i did was drag and drop my ipas to and surprisingly itunes accepted it, and now ill i do it get app sync and all, well most, of my cracked apps are in itunes. LOL but unfortunatly you cannot update apps.
Hello everyone i just bought an ipod touch 32G 3G 3.1.3 firware MC Model. I have followed links all around to find a jailbreak but all i see for the specific model's jailbreak is bad comments and upcoming faulty ipods. I would really appreciate it if someone really knew and was sure about jailbreaking this device and giving me some help.
If you could reply to me i would be greatful as you can easily imagine my frustration. Thank you guys in advance.
@Emzend14 - Unfortunately, I have to agree with CaptainChaos. In just browsing the forums, I too have seen the same as you.....but on the flip side, it won't be forever until you will be able JB in future OS updates. (:-p)

Though we all look different on the outside, we all bleed the same on the inside
I haven't experienced that with my IPT3G, but I updated to FWV 3.1.3 and was able to restore it back to FWV 3.1.2. I was then able to JB it again but I just wish it was an untethered JB. I don't reboot or shutdown that much but I don't like having to rely on having my netbook, laptop, or desktop nearby to re-JB to bring it out of Recovery mode.
