Problem with 32gb 3g Ipod Touch (Blackra1n)

Steps I've taken:

1. Download and run blackra1n
2. Configured Wifi and install Cydia
3. Install Diskaid on Windows 7 PC, Fileaid on Ipod Touch 32GB 3G

I try to select 'Root folder' at the bottom left within Diskaid and it reads "Sorry, you need to have a Jailbroken device to view the root partition."

I'm primarily doing this so I can edit a theme I like for my own personal usage. I currently can't find that theme on modmyi's directory under cydia's sources. (Lee's theme btw which can be found here)

What am I doing wrong? Does Blackra1n not 'jailbreak' the Ipod? It works fine and I can browse through Cydia without a problem. I'm very very new to the jailbreaking scene so I apologize if this question has been raised and answered before. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I'm on firmware 3.1.2 also.

Do you have OpenSSH installed on your device? Is SSH turned on?

I tried doing it via OpenSSH and I kept getting errors. I am able to view and edit files via iFile and I've been using that to copy over things from Diskaid one by one. It isn't that convenient but it works.

I'm also having an issue with taking a screenshot. The screen does the usual white flash and I hear the click but the image does not appear under 'Photos' and my 'Wallpapers' folder cannot be seen as well under 'Photos.'

Edit 1: I also can't seem to view photos on the iPod in Windows Explorer like I use to be able to. The iPod doesn't show up in anything other than iTunes. Is this normal behavior?

Edit 2: I installed QuickShottr and apparently it's taking the screenshot but for some reason isn't saving or is being hidden somehow. The screenshot can be found here.

Update: I've restored iPod to 3.1.2 firmware FROM APPLE THIS TIME without restoring a backup and I now have the screenshots and my pictures back. I guess that was just some bug or error coughed up by blackra1n or the firmware I downloaded from an online source. I just ran blackra1n and all seems fine, running cydia now.

I also fixed the problem with being able to see the iPod Touch within Windows Explorer. I just uninstalled the driver and Windows 7 instantly found the best suitable driver for it and I can now browse my iPod's "Internal Storage" folder (pics and such). I'm going to re-download fileaid and see if I can connect via Diskaid.

Every time I turn off the iPod, when I turn it back on it shows the Itunes logo and the usb as if it wants to restore. Do I seriously have to run the blackra1n app EVERY time I turn my iPod on?

Edit: Diskaid is still saying the same thing unfortunately.

Edit 2: I can finally connect via OpenSSH this can be deleted now.

Why OpenSSH?

@Jeckel or anyone else:

for I have the same problem with my iPhone 3G since 3.1.2 and Blackra1n/Blacksn0w:
I can access every dir from root on using iFile!
Why OpenSSH? Is it necessary to get access via DiskAid also?
By the way: same prob in "iPhone Explorer".

Whow! Forget everything! Problem solved by DigiDNA:

The bug affecting DiskAid preventing it to access Root folder under "jailbroken" OS 3.1.2 is due to a missing config patch in a config file within "Blackra1n".

You can fix that by downloading the "afc2add" from Cydia!

It works!!!

i believe you have a 32gb or 64gb ipod touch 3rd gen, correct?
if so, you have to re-jailbreak you ipod everytime you reboot it/turn it off.
this is called a tethered jailbreak.
it is very annoying sometimes but that's the way life is

p.s don't worry, when you re-jailbreak it everything will be back to normal as if nothing happened

p.s.s i was very annoyed with this because i had to restore it about 10 times and it takes half an hour to fully restore my ipod
