Unhappy Serious Problem JB iPod Touch, Bricked W/ blackra1n, won’t Boot! Need Help

I have researched all over the net, and can’t find a problem like the one I am experiencing.

I tried to jailbreak an ipod touch running firmware 2.2.1 with the new Blackra1 and think I bricked it, this MUST be the stupidest thing I have ever done! I am JB my friends iTouch 2G as a favor, he told me he had the latest firmware and I dint bother to check. Ran Blackra1n on his touch and the geohot picture came up on the Ipod screen for about 30 Second and then the screen went blank.

I manage to put the unit in DFU/Recovery Mode and hit restore on itunes, then I get a “preparing iPod for restore” massage. After about one minute, I get an error (1601) ipod can not be restored.

I have tried 2 different USB cables and 3 different computers all running XP with iTunes 9. Even thou the touch gets in DFU mode, there is NEVER a picture on the screen, the screen is always black.

So basically if I plug-in the touch to itunes, I immediately get the DFU mode notice. After I get the 1601 error I have to re-plug the USB wire for it to come up on itunes in DFU again. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hold both the power and home buttons down for 30 seconds.

Hold both the power and home buttons down for 30 seconds? I have done this many times. All this will do is put it in recovery mode. I still get the 16XX error and no screen.

If you've done that then mention it.

And no it hardboots the ipod, doesnt have anything to do with recovery mode.

    You can try this.....

Error 1601 or 1602 when restoring iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes

Thanks for your help but i did everything apple recommended on that link with NO luck. Seems to me that this 1601 error is a tough one to fix.

Is there anyway of removing that DFU mode without connecting it to itunes?

Well i found out on how to remove it from DFU mode by holding the Home and Power but that dint work nether.

    UPDATE:

I FIXED IT! I click shift on itunes 9 and updated the iPod Touch to the latest IPSW (iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore)from 2.2.1 and it started to update! Thanks for your help
