i just bought my ipod touch last night and it came with the 3.1 firmware. I stupidly forgot to upgrade to 3.1.2 and just opened blackrain and ran it, when it went to reboot phone it just hung in dfu mode. and that is where i am now!! the ipod is stuck in DFU mode and i am unable to restore in tunes, i keep getting error 1601 on 2 different computers. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help!! I will send $10.00 via paypal to the first person that can get me out of DFU today.

So it's seen by computers? That's half the battle. 16__ errors deal with firmwares (wrong firmware, unsupported firmware, unauthorized firmware). Are you using stock firmwares from Apple? Have you "turned off" your device and tried DFU mode again? Are you selecting the firmware off of the computer or just clicking the "Restore" button in iTunes?

Same thing happened to me, it was a black screen then when i told itunes to restore it went all white. If you cant get to that part what to do is hold the main button and the top button together for about 10 seconds then try to restore. Hope this helps. Also from what i've read if your itouch starts with the model number MC you cant jailbreak it right now.
