Can't find Ipod Touch 1g firmware 2.2.1 anywhere

Can someone tell me where I can find 2.2.1 firmware for the Touch 1g? I've searched everywhere, downloaded a few. None are legit. The one on this site is down.

Did you download it through iTunes? If so, its located (on a mac) in:
<YourUsername> > Library > iTunes > iPod Software Upgrades

I'm not sure if this is usable... it launches a browser window and starts filling it with funny stuff like:

it looks weird of course, but I remember having met with sth similar once when downloading a CD image somewhere... it was said to be usable, but I really don't remember how it was to be recovered - maybe you know how this can be done?

The download progress indicator in my browser shows now 44% of the supposed 240+ MB file size so it looks like the real download? Can anybody help?

Here is a link to MMi's download page for said firmware (it is a protected firmware, so please don't steal). This and the subsequent links worked for me.
