itouch 2nd gen 32g problem

Hello, I have 2nd gen itouch and originally did the jailbreak about a month or so ago. It worked but since doing it the touch keeps crashing. I have restored it numerous times. I have put the latest jailbreak on it and it still crashes. I have to hold both buttons just to boot it up.
I don't know what to try next.
This is only 5 months old. Should I send it into apple for repair?
Any help would be appreciated as it is pretty much useless the way it is.
