Jailbreaking issue: Error 2001

hey im currently running 2.2.1 fw on a 1st gen. itouch thats already jailbroken
ive been using it perfectly until my friend went to settings and hit reset to factory settings. Now when I turn the ipod on it remains at the loading screen with the apple logo permanently. I've tried manually rebooting it and trying to put it into dfu mode to restore but it hasnt worked thus far... Any suggestions would be nice

your doing to correct thing. Hitting reset wipes everything out. You'll have to put in dfu and restore and jailbreak again

lmao I found out why it wasn't working... apparently some ipods when you set it up to work with your itunes using a pc it won't work with a mac
so I tried using my computer instead of my friends macbook and it worked *thumbs up*
