What are the drawbacks of jailbrekaing

I have read all about all the cool stuff you can do with jailbreaking on many different sites but I haven't seen many drawbacks. I've heard rumors about it hurting battery life... does it really?, and dont care about the warranty part. If there are any drawbacks, what are they?

Jailbreaking in itself does not hurt your battery. Some of the apps you can install use up more battery life because they run additional processes all the time. Read the article below for a much more in depth explanation.

Drawbacks......

You will become so enthused with the iphone that you will most likely never put it down....may loose friends, your job...girlfriend, fiance or wife. But it will be ok, cause you'll have a really cool phone

The only drawback(s) is that the battery life will be shorter, if you have a 2g then its tethered to a computer..

I am in high school and don't have a wife, but I wouldn't want to lose a wife over an iPhone LOL
Also, tehered is only tethered when booting not the whole time.
HOW SOON do you think the jailbreak will be out(untethered)?

Untethered is out, but complex using terminal, so hold off if you want good GUI. :/

I used a program called quickfreedom. It's just as easy to use as quickpwn and came out 1 day after the jailbreak was released. Now I have a fully jailbroken iPod touch 2g
