iPod Touch 2nd Gen Jailbreak Questions
Ok so I have successfully jailbroken my iPod Touch 2nd gen with the 2.2.1 firmware and i have cydia
but now i guess you can rejailbreak it and get installer too but it when i do the part of the jailbreak process where you have to restore to youre new jalbroken firmware idk if that will make me lose all my music, picture, and apps (from appstore and cydia)
so will it get rid of all that?
and if it does can i back it up first somehow?

Whhhhat? lol. Your music and photos will be wiped off of your ipod, but will be resynced through iTunes. Same with videos and Appstore apps. But you will lose all of your Cydia apps. I highly recommend staying with just Cydia. Installer has nothing new and just causes problems. Trust me, it is not worth the hassle AT ALL to restore and put installer on.

A second generation iPod touch is much harded to jailbreak than a first gen. I'm not sure how far the dev-team's gone with it, but I think you still have to do a tethered jailbreak. Meaning everytime you want to turn your ipod 2g on, you have to run a program on it with it connected to your computer. And since you say you just got it on sunday, it sounds like you've never jailbroken before. When the dev-team released the jailbreak for the 2g, they specifically said, We strongly recommend you know what you are doing before you attempt this. They said they will not offer any help on troubleshooting issues. They will even go as far as to ban your IP address from their blog if you post questions for help. So, you better know what you're doing...

haha wow, nvm then. i kinda know what im doing but note the word "kind of". i tried using quickpwn last night on a 2nd gen touch but it wouldn't let my get past the firmware screen, it said that it was not designed to work with that device. So at that i will just wait until the dev-team releases the jailbreak for it. thanks bteamer!
