if i were to jail break my iTouch 1 st gen 8 gb, would i still be able to use the apps i purchased if i jail broke with quickpwn? this is the border line for me, as i spent $65+ on apps, if i cant then no jailbreak for me but if i can then, weeeeeeeeee.

You need an active internet connection. You must be on wifi for an ipod.

Cydia has been having issues the past few days, it may already be working again by now, but sounds like you did everything right and it was just a cydia problem.
