Halt/Freeze ipod touch 2G

I just got an ipod touch 2G last week. Been playing with it for about 1 week now. I don't know how the jailbreaking works but it seems that one way (which doesn't work anymore) was to use a tiff exploit to inject code after there was a buffer over flow? Something like that... I am not sure on how this is done but I think you crash, buffer overflow, the system and then you could inject code at the same time? Maybe someone knows and cares to explain?

I am just saying because I could get my ipod touch 2g to halt... not crash but just HALT till I hold the on/off button for 10 seconds or whatever. If someone could explain how the tiff exploit works then maybe we can do something here like find a png exploit or who knows what... it's kinda funny how the ipod touch just halts... while I am playing music I launch the discover app and open a file that is 1.6 mb with extension .sh and move to zoom in scroller, the music playing jerks and repeats over and over and the screen stops working... I left it halt/freeze for 5 minutes before I hard-restarted.

Aight, just thought I share my story with you guys, who knows maybe this means something or nothing...
