Upgrading to 2.1 from 1.1.4

Im confused and have not payed attention to the forums since i jailbroke my 1st gen iPod touch with 1.1.4 using ziphone. I am still running 1.1.4 jailbroken. I have downloaded (iPod2,1_2.1.1_5F138_Restore) and (iPod1,1_2.1_5F137_Restore). Which is the correct one to use? Is one of them for iPod touch 2nd gen? I have also downloaded quickpwn 2.1 Do i have to restore to 2.1 with itunes like i had to with 1.1.4 before i use quickpwn to jailbreak? I have read the jailbreaking guide but i am still confused and dont want to mess anything up.

I THINK the 2.1.1 is for the 2nd gen, but im not positive. And yes, you have to restore to stock, upgrade to 2.1 through iTunes, and then jailbreak.

No problem glad I could help. But I still recommend 2.2 over 2.1. It's faster and more stable so far.

I'm in the same situation, i have the 1.1.4 firmware jailbroken, if i update to 2.2, do i get aplications like maps, wheather, mail? cos my version doesnt have it, if i restore, i will lose them all.
I want to update and jailbroke again, but dont want to lose that aplications.
