so i followed the direction, used the double button reset strategy (flawlessly) downgraded (1.1.1) jailbroke (jailbrakeme.com) upgraded (1.1.2) then jail broke again (1.1.2) and at the point where i should have been able to upgrade to os 1.1.3, i could not because i had an ipod in recovery mode, not a jailbroken ipod touch.

a bummer, i know.
