i would appreciate some help:)....no i NEED help!

hii
so i got myself into a really sticky situation with my ipod touch. i delved into the whole jailbreak thing(using ziphone) but im not very good at this stuff. conclusion my ipod shows the little cable and itunes image every time i turn it on and just stays that way..i dont know what to do.im trying to restore the whole thing by installing it on itunes(ipod software update) again but i dont know if that will do the trick. i still want to jailbreak it though but i would like some explanation on how to proceed and what firmware is...and which one i have??? i suck at this stuff but i try, bear with me
thnx a lot!

Well, first off you have to get it back to normal. In iTunes, with the device connected, hit 'Restore'. If it then gives you an error, try DFU mode. When jailbreaking, be sure that you know what firmware you have (it should say on your device's iTunes window). If it is above 2.0, you cannot use ZiPhone (I would highly advise against it even if you're below as it is notorious for causing problems). Use WinPwn (Windows) or Pwnage (Mac) (be sure that you get the correct versions of the app if you're above/below 2.0). If it is a second generation iPod Touch, you cannot jailbreak (yet). If you have trouble, look for some guides on the subject. There are many on this site and if you want more help, you can google for it or ask us.
