iPod Touch Wont turn on...
My iPod touch was on 1.1.4 Standard firmware, Non-jailbroken/etc...
I decided I want 2.0 firmware so I can play Crash bandicoot and all that, So I downloaded WinPWN, and I found my ispw, and I opened it, then I started ''Pwning'' the iPod.Finnaly it finishes and says that its completed and all and its rebooting.
After about 5 minutes I try to reboot it myself, except it wont turn on...And when I mean it wont turn on, I dont mean I get the recovery screen or a flashing white light or anything, I just straight up mean It.Will.Not.Turn.On...
I tried putting it in recovery mode by holding power and home, nothing.
Held down the standard power, nothing.
Held down the home button, nothing.
My computer doesnt say its plugged in (When it is) because it just straight up, does NOT turn on...
ANY help, would be great.
Thanks.

Are you putting it in DFU mode?
(-Hold power and home for 10 sec
(-Release power until computer recognizes it, iPod screen will be black)
What you were doing should not brick your iPod (I have thought the same at one point), so just confirm that you are putting it into DFU.

not turning on
I'm having the same problem. It won't even power on. No apple logo, no nothing. I tried to put it into DFU, the only thing that happens is windows spits up a little blurb saying "USB device not recognized" I let my daughter borrow it for a few days and she brought it back to me like this. Was working fine before, non jailbroken. She won't admit if she tried to jailbreak it, so let's assume that she did.
any other suggestions, besides press and hold power and home for DFU? I'm thinking that somehow this really is bricked.
Thanks in advance.
Ok, I tried one last time, and used a stop watch to time the 10seconds on the power button, and it worked. So nevermind the previous post.

I know this topic is kinda old, but I'm having the same issue. I have a second generation iPod touch that I tried to jail break using this video.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLyYai4t04M"]this video.[/ame]
I'm not sure if the problem is that I didn't have 2.2.1 firmware when I did it (I had 2.2) or if it just died out.
But it happened right after I finished rebooting it using the custom firmware.
The iPod won't turn on, and when I plug it into a computer it says, "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned..." I have tried this on two other computers, one a mac and the other a Windows XP machine.
Do you think it could be the USB cable? Or I just messed it up?
Thanks.
EDIT: I have tried getting it into DFU without any luck.
