Frigey you are the man! I finally got the AppStore to download some free apps and even $$$ed up for SplashID, but couldn't get the 2.0 firmware thru itunes at all. Direct download of the firmware was slow at first, but after 4:30 or so EST started to fly.

Shift-Restored and I'm running 2.0 on my touch !!!! Restore was VERY slow, i started to worry, but I left it alone and its all good. Synched again to install my new apps. All looks good !!! I will miss my theme and a few others, but SplashID was a must have for me.

Once again ... this firmware works on an itouch.

ok.downloaded. what do i have to do to make iTunes recieve it and apply it to my iPod?
btw does this mean i have a original firmware and not a jailbroken one?can i still jailbreak it to make it a 1.2.0 jailbreak?can i still customize it and stuff or am i stuck with its black screen and ugly dock.

@Ayogiaannz: you will be stuck with the ugly dock thingy for a little while untill they release the pwnage tool 2.0. to apply it put your touch in restore mode, then open itunes and click restore while holding shift down( then find the firmware) then restore! As Rdfish said "Restore was VERY slow, i started to worry, but I left it alone and its all good"

I have an itouch with 1.1.4 version unjailbroken and I downloaded the file...
tried to restore with the new 2.0 software and iTunes keeps telling me "unable to restore, error (5)?"
Anyone got any idea why. I have the updated version of iTunes 7.7? Should I jailbreak my itouch first?
