Can you disable automatic firmware updates?

Is it possible to disable itunes automatic firmware update notifications?

Basically I'm wondering if you can disable the "yes or no" dialog you get in itunes whenever a new firmware update is released.

There's not an option in itunes you can disable to keep it from doing this right?

Perhaps there is, or maybe we could use a "3rd party intervention" such as a small VB app that would intervene and keep that notification from displaying. Does anyone here have the programming knowledge to do something like this?

Another possible solution thats been thrown around is simply redirecting the apple update server(s) via the windows hosts file. ex, adding the lines:

127.0.0.1 updateserver1.apple.com
127.0.0.1 updateserver2.apple.com

Does anyone happen to know what the actual hostnames of these update servers are?

Go to iTunes....then Edit and select preferences then on the general tab un-tick the automatic updates box.
