Orite well this isnt for my ipod because my jailbreak got in fine. well a friend of mine went to jailbreak his ipod touch 16 gb. He restored his 1.1.4 version by the way, so it was like brand new with nothing as your supposed to do, but when he went to go to the command prompt program everything went well and the screen got all the words and stuff but all the sudden it just kept going with the words saying something like "SMB something..: md0, major 2, minor 0" just over and over and i know thats not supposed to happen, so he shuts off his ipod and the same thing happens. And when we try to get it to read on itunes, it doesnt even pick up and read. So he's just stuck there and no way to get to the menu. so if anyone knows how to fix this problem and theres a solution program if its possible to send the links on over to this thread. Or just a way to hard reset your ipod without any programs.

Put in DFU restore mode and start all over:

DFU Restore Mode:
Boot phone
Hold Power + Home until the screen goes BLACK
Continue to hold home and let go of power
Plug into iTunes (screen should still be BLACK)
Within 20 seconds it should come up in recovery mode
Let go of Home and hit RESTORE in iTunes.
