iPod Touch Mail.app

I got installer.app and ALL the iphone programs on to my iPod touch including the mail.app. Everytime I open mail in 3 seconds it crashes. The permissions are set correctly and I used the version from iPhone firmware 1.1.1 I got off of the dev teams wiki and even tried the 1.0.2 mail.app and it still crashes. Anyone have a solution? I almost finally have an iPhone without the phone but can't complete this part.

They're on bittorrent sites... but I wish someone would mirror them here, that would be sweet, the ones for maps and mail

http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Enable_...e_Applications

Third party apps and extension bundles linked above.

OP: You just have to make sure you have the preferences in the proper folder.

That sucks. I'd have to look into the directory to eval the problem.

Have you followed the instructions in the guide.

When you are using your ftp program (sftp even) as well as the mail application you have to copy the following :

/System/Library/PreferenceBundles/MobileMailSettings.bundle

from the iPhone file into the same place on your ipod.

I did it yesterday and it works a treat..in fact its probably the best mobile mail program i've ever used.

Install GMM.framework into /System/Library/Frameworks (only needed once, skip if already installed with Maps) 2. Install MobileMail.app in the /Applications directory 3. Install the MobileMailSettings.bundle in the /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/ directory 4. Run the command while connected to your iTouch via SSH " chmod -R a+x /Applications/* "

?? how to add a folder for mails?

I am trying to figure out how to add a folder to store mails. As there is an folder look icon allow you to put mails in and classify them. I guess the plist format is the same with mail application on mac machine. So it looks like

<pre>
<dict>
<key>MailboxAttributes</key>
<integer>257</integer>
<key>MailboxName</key>
<string>Sent Messages</string>
</dict>
</pre>

I tried to mimic a new one changing the name to "Note" and the mail.app displayed it. However, after I drop the mail in the "Note" folder I can never
find it again in mail.app, although a file is created in the directory and looks like a good one. Also I spot the Envelop Index database is updated correctly.

Anybody can shed some light on how to set up folders? the number 257 looks magic to me.
