Ipod Touch died

so i have had a jailbroken 1.1.4 ipod touch running PERFECTLY for a while now, that i got in october

but yesterday i was just sitting at my computer with my ipod plugged in, and i noticed after an hour or so of not touching it or anything, just having it sit there, that it restarted
i didnt take much notice but later i picked it up and noticed the apple screen was still there with the spinning circle thing now spinning over the apple logo
and i cant get away from this happening over and over again
i have tried multiple resets (the one where you hold both buttons)

is there a way to fix this?
i have already tried changing to recovery mode and normal mode in ZiPhone 2.5, and it worked, but as soon as i unplugged it, i got the circle again
this has happened in both recovery and normal mode
i cant get springboard to start
