They probably had a set number of codes that were being given away, that's how most iTunes promotions go. Once the codes are all issued, that's it.

I googled this and could find nothing announcing this, so word of mouth seems to have spread quickly.

I got 10 songs but the @temporaryinbox.com didn't work for me (neither did the other types of temp email addresses). What else is there to use? I received "use a valid email address each time I tried to use the @temporaryinbox.com from Facebook.

Go to any inbox at temporaryinbox.com
In the top right corner is a random email address with a differrent url.
Copy it, use it, and then click it to go to that email and approve your account.
