04-15-2012, 03:16 PM #1iPod Touch 3g on iOS 5.1 wont connect to Ad Hoc network
I have Windows 7 and I created an Ad Hoc network. I connected to it with my ipod yesterday and it was working fine but today when i tred to open safari I got a message saying "Cannot open page: Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet." When i go into settings > Wi-Fi i can see the Network i created and my ipod connects to it, i can see the check mark and the wifi signal on the top left on my status bar shows up as if it had successfully connected but i cant use the internet. Does anyone know a solution?
Ive tried repringing/Rebooting my ipod, creating a new Ad Hoc network, resetting my network settings, and restarting my computer and redoing it all over but I cant seem to find a solution. Could anyone help me out? I haven't downloaded/Installed anything new since i last successfully connected to the internet using my Ad Hoc network.

Good. Open start and type restore on the search, and open the restore to a certain point program (or something similar) in there youll choose a restore point when the ad hoc network was working. April 14th for example and begin the process.
This will not affect your documents ony installed programs today, if any. When finished it should work like before.

I had the same problem. My ad hoc network wouldn't work for half a year until I stumbled upon this fix. Before you start, make sure internet connection sharing is off. This is for a Vista PC but it's basically the same for 7.
Go to "Network" --> "Manage Network Connections" (on the left hand pane) --> Select both Local Area Connection and Wireless Network by holding down ctrl and clicking both icons --> right click it and select create bridge. Enable internet connection sharing and the ad hoc network should work again.

No, dont bridge the networks.
Open Connect to a Network by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Connect to.
Click Set up a connection or network.
Click Set up an ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network, click Next, and then follow the steps in the wizard.
