Im trying to fix a 3rd gen ipod touch 64 bit. The original problem I had is it wasn't connecting to itunes, and I would get a message usb device is not recognized. I put it into dfu mode, and finally got itunes to see it and tried to restore it using itunes. It got half way threw the restore and then I had a error and then the usb device is not recognized screen came up again and the ipod restarted, basicly like pulling the plug during the middle of a restore. My problem now is I cant get it into dfu mode the only thing that it will do now is boot with the apple then go directly to connect to itunes page. I hold the top power button and it does a loop, apple screen, then connect to itunes. I hold the home button and it does nothing. I cant get the power down slider to come up and get it into any dfu mode. The ipod still doesn't recognize Itunes, so Im more or less stuck on connect to itunes screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Having the same issue with my 3rd gen. It was working fine except that it wouldn't show up in itunes. I was getting the same unrecognized usb error too. I put it in dfu mode and tried to restore it...and I got error 21. Now it's stuck on the connect to itunes screen and idk what to do. Any help guys?
