iPod touch 4th 8gb battery life

Do the 4th gen IPT's have terrible batteries in general? when using mine there is always a great fluctuation in the battery level. one min its in the green next I have 20% left, then 10% then back in the green.

I haven't sat down and actually checked the lifetime of the battery but is this normal 4th gen behaviour or does this sound like a bad battery?

I had checked the serial number with apple and it seems like it was bought for someones xmas present 2010 so its coming upto a year old now. (I bought it in august from eBay with a smashed screen and replaced it)

Also another thing, I have noticed "high capacity" batteries on eBay but upon checking the watthours printed on the label it works out to the standard mah but the battery is advertised as 1200mah. Are these batteries any good or steer clear of them?

Edit to add its on IOS5.0 currently and was on 4.3.3 when I got it, battery life seems the same between the two firmwares.

I've been using an ipod touch 4 since christmas and the batterie still lasts long.

I have had my ipod touch 4g for over a year now, the battery life for me depends on what im doing. I can go hours on just music, some games drain the battery real quick, some dont. I can usually go a little over an hour playing a game. As for the other batteries, i have no idea what to tell ya there.
