Dropped my iPod in the toilet! Help!

Hey,

So, as the title suggests, I dropped my iPod in the toilet. I took it out within the next five seconds, the screen was black but the music was still playing. Three seconds later the music stops too. I assumed the iPod turned off (hopefully not fried). I held onto the home button and the lock button for five seconds for a manual shutdown, thinking that maybe the hardware was failing. About five minutes later, I put my iPod in a tub of rice.

How long do I wait until I can take the iPod out and/or how screwed over am I? Thanks.

Is there a pink dot in the headphone jack? That means you are screwed.

You probably shouldn't have tried to turn it on......but for now, try just keeping it in rice

24 hours in a sealed bag of rice should do. As long as the turning it back on didn't do anything bad to it.
