Unhappy Date keeps resetting to February

My touch keeps resetting the date back February. If I go to set it to the right date and time, it spits out all of my calendar notifications since then, which requires me to dismiss every single one, so fixing it every time it changes is not an easy task for me. It also causes sites that use SSL, such as Google, to complain that the security certificate isn't valid yet.

Would it be the RTC battery dying, or could it be some sort of software glitch? I'm running iOS 4 on an iPod touch 2g.

Edit: It just locked up, so I had to do a hard reboot, and the date changed back to February. So it is possible that it is something to do with the RTC battery.

It looks like a bug in iOS 4.0's automatic clock setting for daylight savings might have caused this, as I only noticed it after daylight savings started. Updating to 4.2.1 fixed this.
