Default 2nd Gen vs. 3rd Gen Digitizers
    Hello everyone,

I would like to know if the iPod Touch 2G digitizer is identical to the iPod Touch 3G.

I have read mixed articles saying that they are identical while others say they are not. I need an expert's help, however any/all information is welcome!

    Thank you in advance!

They look pretty much identical to me, from the pictures.

This is where I go for parts: iPod Touch 2nd Generation (iTouch) Replacement Glass Touch Screen

    I guess you've got a 50/50 chance of wasting $30.

I'd have to agree with the first reply, I believe they're identical. The difference in the two is the internals, not the displays. If your ipod is an 8GB model i'd suggest the 2G screen either way.

    Okay,

so I've received 4 iPod touch 2G digitizers without a midframe and bezel (home button). Installing the midframe itself is easy, however is the bezel easy to install too?

What about if it is the 32GB or the 64GB models?

    Thanks in advance.

well if the ipod is 8GB then it must be a 2g, and if it is 32 or 64 GB you can tell by multitasking

sorry, just to be clear, if the ipod has multitasking, it is a 3rd generation, if not, it is a second generation.

I'm not asking for help to identify iPod Touches, I am asking for information about digitizer compatibility and the level of difficulty regarding the installation of the midframe and bezel (DIY).
