One of apples biggest fails: Backing up my damn ipod everytime I plug it in.

well it froze so i killed itune's process. Now i have "no songs" on my ipod when i open the music app but itunes states all my songs are still on there. when i tried to resync it said something about a duplicate library and some sort of disk error. i've tried to restart my ipod but still the same thing. whats wrong with it? i'd hate to rejailbreak!
