Headphone jack mod

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen, and I'm having the all too common problem with my headphone jack. The connection that pauses music when the headphones are unplugged is broken. I don't want to order the parts and fix it myself, nor do I want to go through the jailbreak process again by having to send it in to crapple. It seems like an easier fix would be to tell the software to ignore that connection completely. I was wondering if there was a mod that would do just this?

So what you're saying is that when you unplug your headphones, music continues to play correct?

If you don't want to do any repairs with it, your best option would be to make sure the volume is turned all the way down when its in speaker mode. If that doesn't work, just pause the music before you unplug your headphones.


Other than that there's not much you can do with it unless you send it in for a repair or take it to an unauthorized repair service.

No, my problem is that whether headphones are plugged in or not, music plays for a few seconds then stops.
