Replacement baterry for ipod touch 4
Hi all,
I have ipod touch 4 .
I realized that the battery of the player is not so well,
so I would like to buy higher capacity internal battery for my ipod.
Is it possible ?
(More than 1200 mah).
I really need your help.Last edited by LalyGirl; 04-14-2011 at 02:35 AM.

If you really know what you're doing go ahead but it is strongly recommended you DON'T alter the battery unless replacing it (send it to apple)

If I will do it by myself, can I destroy it by mistake ?
But if I'll send it to apple, they will put the same weak battery..
Do you recommend me to buy External Battery instead of internal battery?
I'm not so sure about that because the internal battery will be in charge all the time, so it may destroy it, doesn't it ?

I strongly advise you NOT get an external battery. Charging all the time is not good for the battery. If you wanna replace it yourself, make sure you buy a reliable battery. Replacing at apple will cost around $70-80 buts a reliable process and theyll give you a new one

So I should leave the idea of external battery..
But if I'll send my ipod to apple, they'll give me the same weak battery.
The battery of ipod touch 4 holds at least 8 hours.
If you play, you have only 2 hours :/
I want to have a good internal battery, and not a weak one.
What should I do ?

Wait (just making sure) are you complaining that the apple battery that it comes with is has a really short battery life? Also how long have you had your iPod and how often do you use it/charge it

I have my ipod for a month.
All I do with it is to be in the internet, and playing games.
For example: * When it's full, I can play only 2 hours of Asphalt 5/6 and that's it.
* 15 minutes and the network and 30% disapear.
* Just to open the screen and scrool the menu (for fun :P) - 2%-5% disapear.
* Open msn/facebook for 5 minutes and 15%-10% disapear.
I only have 2-3 hours to watch video .. :/
And my friends also have the same problem.
For a little of them have a little strong battery.
It's not truly 7 hours of video and 40 hours of music like apple said :/
I use it for 3-4 hours a day, from 100% to 40%-30% and sometimes to 20% and then I charge it.
Sometimes I charge it during the day: from 60% to 100%.
I charge it 1-2 times a day. (but most of the time only 1)
sometimes I don't use it so I don't charge it.Last edited by LalyGirl; 04-16-2011 at 11:52 PM.

Yes, It's in the minimum - The screen is dark.
Also, the wifi is turn off.
I shut down the ipod when I don't use it.
And I do the all of the tips that recommends in order to get some battery life (which not help a lot as you can see..)

Yea that's how iPod touch's are. Do you have wifi and Bluetooth on much?

No, I may use the wifi for 10 minutes because it's take 30% from the battery (that 10 minutes :/ )

Oh well that's extremely weird then. Maybe you got a defective battery. Since it's only one month old you have warranty still so youcan probably get a replaced battery free

When you are in the internet, how is your battery?

Ohh... Ok by the way, Do you have ios 4.3.1 ?
Because when I updated my ipod from 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 - the ipod became slower and it's have some bugs. And it's sometimes froze!

Uh I have iPod 2g on 4.2.1 updating iOS (in theory) is supposed to "slow" down the iPod cuz of new updates and features and stuff but like supposedly updating will male battery consumption more efficient. Personally I think 4.1 is the best.
