iPod performance
I feel that my iPod 2g's performance speed isn't as smooth as some I've seen. I don't have any themes on and I don't (can't) multitask so... Help!

That and if you have multitasking and wallpaper enabled, you should disable them. That will help the most.

Oh right. Haha. I don't have multitasking but I DO have wallpaper. Does wallpaper lag it a lot?

Wallpaper is probably the biggest lag whereas multitasking probably is much lesser. If you had the opposite you'd probaby have much better performance on that particular device.

That model of iPod touch like the iPhone 3G just don't work well with iOS 4. I mean you could try removing unused language packs to see if it helps any, if not there's not much else to do. Unless you happen to have SHSHs for 3.1.3, then downgrading will help the performance bc it runs best on 3.1.3. If you don't have SHSHs saved, then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.

2 things.
1: will removing language packs make it faster?
2: if I downgrade what features do I lose?

Language packs is a slight difference. Frees up maybe 40MB for my iPhone 4. It would be less for your device, maybe 20 MB frees up.
However, you should do it by running a command in mobile terminal. YouTube video by Dr Jailbreak is what I use. Simply search "remove unused language packs dr jailbreak" and you'll get a video tutorial as well as download links.

I believe it is a modified language pack. There are two. One that automatically erases anything except English and Japanese, and one that allows you to choose which ones to erase.
