    Default MobileTerminal not working

Ok, I've just wiped my iPod Touch 2G and restored 4.2.1 on it so it.

I then JB'ed it with Greenpoisi0n rc6.1 and I've found that Terminal will not work...

I load terminal and it crashes back to the home screen a few seconds later, here's a video of what is happening:

How can I fix this? I've tried restoring back to 4.2.1 then JB'ing again, and it does the exact same thing...

So far I've only installed OpenSSH and MobileTerminal in Cydia, have I done something wrong?

The mobile terminal on cydia is incompatible with newer firmware. try this version from the Google code site.

    Mobile Terminal

I assume you know how to manually install .debs?

Yep, I just put it in the /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall folder and rebooted and now I have a Terminal app! Thanks.

I quite like the gestures also, I've found setting double-tap to Tab helps when navigating thru the filesystem.

I had to create the folder.

I did it with PuTTY but you can also do it in Explorer/Finder if you prefer.

I never thought of creating folders, I thought we weren't allowed or something.

I did some research and found that an operating version of MobileTerminal can be found in http://xsellize.cydia.com and download the MobileTerminal app, and that's how the cookie crumbles.

This app somehow works with the iOS 4.3.1

Hmm, that link doesn't work for me which I click it in the browser... Do I have to add it to the source list in Cydia instead?

I'd be interested to see what MobileTerminal is actually like, because the Google one is nice, it's not perfect, as I can't see a way to scroll up which is a bit of a shame.

If MobileTerminal has a scroll buffer then I'd have it on my iPod I think.
