Retina on iPod Touch 3g?

First off,
This is probably a really stupid question, but I must know.

Is there a Cydia app that enables Retina display on the 3g model of the iPod Touch? Or at least close?

No. retina display is the actual display. Not some sort of add on. It is the lcd itself

The Retina display is high definition. Its physically a hardware difference that you cant just change with an app. Its like saying "If i hook blu-ray up to my 1985 tube tv, will it be HD?" I'm not trying to sound like an a-hole, just trying to explain the difference. Its about the number of colored dots (pixels) that the screen has. The non-retina iDevices have a screen that is like 480 high x 320 pixels wide. So there are literally only 153,600 dots on your screen. The Retina iDevices have a screen that is 960x640, or 614,600 dots on the screen. The Retina's screens pixels are so small that they cant be seen individually by the human eye. If you look close at a non-retina display, you can see the individual dots. You can probably even see the individual dots on your laptop or desktop screen, because producing the display quality of the Retina devices in a large screen is wicked expensive.
