My iPod screen is stuck and everthing on it is negative black being white ect.

It's already jailbroken. I plugged it into iTunes and the screen went negative

Hold the home and sleep buttons for 10(?) seconds and it will shut off and start back up.

^Yup, it could take more than 10 seconds though. Just keep holding them together until you see the apple logo.
