Default iPod Touch 2G Audio Problems.

Hey guys, I have a 2nd Generation iPod Touch 32 Gig, it is currently not jailbroken.

I'm having an audio problem when I plug in headphones only one of the work. It's not the headphones as I've tried multiple different ones and its the same on but work fine with any other audio device, but when I plug the audio jack into my iPod and then I push the plastic piece of the jack one way and hold it both headphones start working again. Or if I press down on the screen side where the audio jack is it does the same.

Is there any quick fix to this? My factory warranty is out and I didn't get an extended one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I might be able to help. Here this might work try restoring it on iTunes. If that do not work try playing with the sound on settings. If that does not work call apple I know your warranty is don but apple might tell you something that will help. Please tell me what happens. Thanks

I've already restored it a couple times and that didn't help. And I called in and they said it would cost like 180 bucks to get a new refurbished one or something. Because they don't individually fix parts. I'll try messing with the sound settings, but if that doesn't work I guess I'm out of luck.

Sorry man but that's unfixable, the jack is attached to the logic board and can't even be unsolder to be replaced, the only way to replace it would be to replace the whole logic board, and for the price of a new logic board you might as well buy a new iPod.

Though unfixable, a workaround is to buy a pair of Bluetooth headphones or I even heard someone made serial port headphones before that you might want to look into.
