    iRealsms 3.0 is amazing.
BiteSMS is good... and it's free - ad supported
Tlert is good... only $5.99 in Rock.

Anything in the app store for texting is worthless.

Usually it will kick your phone into safe mode once then be ok from then on. Bite does not require monthly fees unless you purchase their 3rd party message delivery service.

It just keeps telling me to reboot and it's in safe mode. Or the app won't even open up.

    same, anyone find a fix?
I'm using TextFree from Appstore, its all free just gives a a few ads which u can barely notice, and it gives you a phone number so people can text you back, phone numbers only for people in USA though.

Is the touch supported with those?

Seems that they are iPhone apps so that may be it.

Well, it doesn't say anywhere on the App Info if its for iPhone or iPod Touch or both. Probably not though.

Not sure if some of them try to hook into the APNs or other details that iPhones have for cell networks.

Well what's the best app store app for texting? It's just annoying to text people at my house since I have to put my up on a window to get service. Would be nice to just have a app so I can text other peoples phones with my iPod.

GoogleVoice does text I think. That should work.

My freind texts me from his googlevoice account all the time. I think he uses it on a nokia device. (Not a phone but a media device.)

You will have to grab the googlevoice app from Cydia. Apple pulled googlevoice a while back.

Or a googlevoice app because I think there are a couple.

If your looking for a free, app store app, i suggest "Text Free" Gives phone numb. in USA so people can text back, and you can text them, saves text, you can delete works great, a few ads, but you won't notice em after a while.
