trouble playing video on tv with dtunes

i have a samsung dvd player. it came with an ipod dock. i am able to play podcast from itunes and movie clips from itunes thru my dvd player to my tv. now that ive jailbroken with spirit, downloaded dtunes and mobile theatre i was hoping to play movies on my tv. but all i get is sound. i turned on the video out in the dtunes settings, but no help.
