Default Permissions problem accessing iPod Touch

ipod Touch 32g 2nd gen 3.1.2 Ubuntu NBR latest ver.

I cannot access my ipod because i think i have messed up my permissions and owner in the ipod.

    1) I cannot access the ipod via SSH (cable) Access denied.
    2) I can mount the ipod with fuse $ sudo fuse media/ipod. It is seen then if i try to access it in anyway i get "could not display /media/ipod. Access denied."
    3) I cannot open my terminal emulator. I believe because of permissions or ownership.
    4) If i try to reinstall or add with Cydia i get I get an error message saying error. Again i believe the same reason.

How can i access my ipod to change the settings. Normal methods do not allow me access.

What commands should i issue to change them.

What ownership and permissions should there be.

I know i have screwed up big style. Getting i above my head. I am relatively new to this.

    Please help.

    Stuart

I have now noticed that i cannot use rockapp, cydia, or install any apps through them. I get /usr/bin/dpkg Error 2 or i do not have permission. Ifile will not change permissions either.

    please help.
