    Default help

ok im still fairly new to this whole jb thing so bare with me...i have an itouch 2g non mc model 3.1.3 software. i downloaded redsnow 0.9.4 and ran it. i understand that there is a loophole when trying to jb it and to choose the 3.1.2 jb. when it gets to the screen where says to choose the proper ipsw, nothing shows. so when i search for it manually this is what pops up iPod_24.1.1.2.ipsw. what version is this? and can i still use redsnow 0.9.4 to jb?

This is exactly how I jailbroke my iPod Touch 2g 3.1.3. You need the RedSnow package that by the sound of it you already have. The way I did it is a downloaded the ispw off the internet seperately and it had a name with a 3.1.2 in it rather than your one which, I would guesss, to be the 1.1.2 firmware. I got my ipsw off the internet somewhere ,not to sure where, but shouldn't be to hard top find with google. xD

» felixbruns.de for your iPod firmware needs

However, it's much easier to use Spirit to jailbreak it.
    Spirit
Just run Spirit (in compatibility Windows 98 if you're running Windows 7 or Vista)
Press Jailbreak, and wait until your iPod lets a bar fill up and restarts. Then done! Easy as that

Make sure to close Spirit via the X in the corner, and not by pressing the button that says quit, or it will re-jailbreak
