ERROR: Prepare Archives (Method http has died unexpectedly!)- any ideas whats going on?

hey guys, everytime i open up the Cydia App on my 1g itouch i continue to get an error message stating
(Method http has died unexpectedly!)
&
(Method /usr/ib/apt/methods/http did not start correctly)

anybody know whats going on with it?
