A little help please.
Okay so I got a iPod 1st gen off ebay and the problem is when it it has 100% battery status in the corner I turn it off then back on it drops to less then 20% I think it just needs a new battery but I just was wondering if anyone knew anything to fix it. I'm gunna send it in soon if I can't find a way to fix it. Also if you know where the best place to get a replacement battery at tell me please.

Hello,
First off, This is the "General iPhone Chat". This should be posted in the iPod Touch section.
In response to your question- Try another jailbreak, I had issues with my 2G battery and was just about ready for a new replacement, But tried a new restore and jailbreak, and it worked perfect.
If that doesn't work, You COULD do it yourself, But I don't recommend it unless you don't really care.
Otherwise, I believe Apple charges $80 for a replacement battery. It's just up to you, Doing it yourself is risky because any of the cables in there could EASILY snap and fry the whole thing.
Hope that helps

Yeah well it did the same thing when I was running the 3.1.2 JB via blackra1n. And I put it in General iPhone Chat just cause more people go into this section

to turn off, hold the top button until you get the power off slider, and then just slide the slider,
about the icon, could you post a screen shot? I have no idea with your description
