Ipod Model History

Because we are in the new decade of 2010 I thought it would be a cool idea to look back at just how far we have come since the development of the first iPod back in 2001. Its amazing to think how we went from the iPod Classic to the iPod Touch in only 6 years. Technology evolves and changes so fast there is no telling what the decade of 2010 could hold. I have created a graph which lists every iPod Model in order of its release date. I have also included some minor information about the iPods on the graph.




If you looked at the graph above you can see that the first iPod released in 2001, was very basic and rugged looking. It only contained a 4gb hard drive and was priced at a whopping $400 dollars! Now at its time mp3 players were expensive period, but can you imagine paying $400 dollars for a 4gb mp3 player? I surely can not! Now if you look further up the line; only 7 years later. The iPod now has 160gb of storage, its battery life has almost tripled and it even has a LCD Screen which can display Games, Videos and Pictures. Just in that 7 year period the iPod has gotten a way more modern looking shape and design, its storage went from 4gb to 160gb and of course it has a proper LCD Screen. That is a huge step up from the first iPod released in 2001 and thats not even mentioning the iPod Touch and the iPod Nano which was developed only 6 years later. As you can clearly see technology develops very very fast. It is always rapidly changing and evolving and there is no telling what this decade could have in store. We will just have to wait and see what apple comes up with next…
