Cool Can anyone who actually knows, answer this?

All iPod generations accept iPod Touch 1G and even the iPhone from what I have read, can use a docking system for an alarm and play their music from their own library for the wake up alarm? I have an iHome (2yrs old) but it worked for my other iPods as above mentioned, why will my 1G/8gb iPod touch not work the way all the other iPods did in the past on docking systems? I have a (Function) feature that I used on my other iPods, which gives it the option to turn on and play my music from my personal library to wake up to. I don't know if it is the shut down feature on the iPod Touches but do the iPhones have the shut down feature and how do they work on the docking systems? I downloaded this App. called (WakeTunes) and it has a feature that will over ride that function on the iPod Touch (the shut down), so do you actually think it will work or is there anyway around it?

    Thanks

Here is something that will do it for you. It looks pretty cool too...loaded with many features.

Wake up to your music with AlarmTunes – iPhone App Index

If you try it let me know what you think because right now I just pick one of my ringtones to wake up to.

Hey again Captain, I appreciate your quick response and I did mention above that I did download that App. (WakeTunes) to my 1G/8gb iPod Touch last night but before I try it tonight I wanted to ask if it will work for my 1G/8gb iPod Touch?? I hope it will because it sucks that with all my other iPods, I could wake up to my library music on my iPod. Now with the new versions of iPods (iPod Touch), they don't seem to work with the function on the iPod (shut down) and I know that the (WakeTunes) App. says that it will over ride that function. Do you think it will and have you tried it, I think that you said yesterday that you have the iPhone right? So I am wondering if it will work with the iPod Touch 1G and will it actually do what it says, and over ride the shut down feature of the iPod Touch? Thanks for your help and hope you can understand what I am talking about, I will try it out tonight but I will wait for your response first

Alarmtunes has a lite version(free) in the AppStore and it says it will work with the itouch and iPhone that have at least 3.0 installed.

It says to use it open it up and program it and then press the sleep button. Do not close it with the Home button.

I am going to download it and try it tonight.

    Yes I have the 3GS.

My Bose dock didn't work with my 3G when I upgraded from the 2G. I miss it!

Yeah thanks Captain, that AlarmTunes worked great and you can select the specific song out of your music library. All I had to do was leave it on and keep the Function button on with my iHome while the iPod Touch is plugged in, and I had it loud just to make sure
