What should the touch gen 2 have?

i believe that the next i touch should be an iphone and they should get rid of nanos and shuffles. just sell em in different sizes for the price e.g 1 gb classic(1gb shuffle) 32 iphone(32 touch)

I would say it needs speakers. I've had plenty of times when i forgot my earphones at home or in the car, and then I want to watch a vid or something and i realize i can't hear it. even a mono one would suffice.

Also would like true linux on it (not like rockbox but like ubuntu or debian), but that would be our job, not apple's.

one interesting observation i made, according to the stats of the poll right now, most people want flash. sure. But most people also want iphone features like bluetooth, speakers and camera.

I don't care much for a built in camera, more RAM, bluetooth, or anything like that.

I just want SPEAKERS!
And flash, just so I could go to espn360.com and watch live games free.

However, not much hardware changes, because then my iPod will feel old.

And I would like a camera, but not built in; plenty of other people are already designing one!

it would be cool to have a slightly different UI so that one could better diferentiate between the iPhone and iPod touch. stereo speakers wouldn't hurt. Bluetooth with a2dp/avcrp enabled would make sense.

According to ipodtouchfans.com,
they have found a webplugin in 1.2 for youtube, so you can watch youtube online. And a string that mentions bluetooth and GPS (on the iPod touch).
Plus something about a printer.

i think its absurd to have a camera on a PMP or mp3 player. i mean, they arent going to throw in a 8mp camera. itll probably be like 1.3 or 2mp like most of the cellphones out there. give me bluetooth, speakers, tv out, better video/audio playback(supports more files), and an SD expansion slot( i wish apple would do that).

an sd expansion slot would probably go against apple's design philosophy. They like to keep it as simple as possible.

I think the biggest reason for not including any expansion slot is that Apple hates people sharing music, and this would enable that.

thats probably true as well but I don't think apple would ever put an sd slot in ANY product they make (unless they came out with the iCamera. lol)
