iPod 3.0 not recognized by computer. FRANTIC!

I just upgraded my ipod to 3.0 and that's where all the trouble started. I couldn't get my apps or music so sync, and cydia crashed a couple times, and now my iPod won't even connect to my computer. It isn't recognized and it won't charge. I'm EXTREMELY DESPERATE to get this resolved soon. I have a flight to catch in 2 hours and I need my iPod.

Do you have iTunes 8.2(.1)? Is it connected properly? Has this happened over time or was it immediate? Have you tried it on a different computer? Have you put the device into a restorative mode?

Can you operate your Touch ? (listen to music, web browse)
Is your USB cable in 100% working state ?
Did you do anything stupid with your iPod ?

Force into recovery mode by holding power + home for about 20 seconds until you see the iTunes logo... then restore to 3.0. After it's done plug into iTunes and set up as a NEW profile... then rejailbreak.

Yeah I agree with poseidon, I've tried to restore a phone before in the same state and only got back to where I was. Def put it in dfu and setup up as new.
