This is a noob question, but i'd like to know.

Its a file transfer protocol. On the iphone its used to be able to transfer files from your PC straight into the file system on the phone. For uploading different things.

SSH is the protocol, but requires you to install a plugin on the phone called "OpenSSH" and use a client on your PC.

So i have inav vector theme on my ipod touch. but i dont have the phone and sms icons. so can i upload pictures of other app images in the inav vector theme onto the ipod and replace them with the missing sms and phone icon? I know this is kindove confusing, but...

Ok. ive sshed into my ipod. what are the benifits?

Everything.

1. Able to edit stock files and theme without Winterboard
2. Able to transfer theme downloads from websites, like this, directly into your device
3. Editing strings on the system
Etc, etc.
