Copying music from an iPod

What is the best program to copy music from an iPod Touch first generation running 3.0 onto a PC?

There are several programs if you google it. All at a price I believe, i've not seen anything free.

Google tagscanner, it's free and Windows based. I used it to recover music from a regular ipod but never used it on a touch. Worth a try though. Just make sure you enable "view hidden files and folders" before you connect the touch. The music folders on the ipod are in hidden system folders.
