Touch 1st gen won't let me download over safari

Hi guys!
This is the problem, i erased the "/var/mobile/library/downloads" folder trying to erase a single file that was in the folder, not the whole floder and now it doesn't let me download files any more.. and also i can't even use ********** app any more. I created the folder again with diskAid (same program with wich i erased it) but nothing
When i try to download sth it says: "couldn't start saving the file" i thnk that when i deleted the folder i also deleted some file that was in it that the system needed to download...
I also tryied to fix it by restoring but nothing... if anyone could help me on how to get it fixed or change the dl path i'll appriciate it

You restored the phone? Because it should have restored the files you erased.

Yes, i did restored it.. It's not such a big deal, i can use the pc to dl files it doesn't really matter
Thanks anyway.. If anyone finds the solution i still would like to fix it

FIXED!!
i only had to set the "downloads" folder perissions to 777 and that's it!
